Emraan Hashmi will play Azharuddin alongside Prachi Desai, Nargis Fakhri, and Huma Qureshi. The role of Naureen was first offered to Pakistani actress Urwa Hocane by Ekta Kapoor, but she refused, stating she didn't want to do bold scenes.It is scheduled for release on 13 May 2016.
The film gained critical acclaim and emerged as a superhit at the box-office. It also won the Best Feature Film and Best Actor in the 60th National Film Awards 2012. It paved the way for other sports biopic.

- DANGAL This Indian biographical sports drama film is directed by Nitesh Tiwari. The film stars Aamir Khan portraying the role of Mahavir Singh Phogat, who taught wrestling to his daughters Babita Kumari and Geeta Phogat. Geeta Phogat was India's first female wrestler to win at the 2010 Commonwealth Games, where she won the gold medal (55 kg) while her sister Babita Kumari won the silver (51 kg). Dangal is scheduled to release on 23 December 2016.
